Individual Therapy

Individual psychotherapy can be a challenging process, one that fosters your emotional awareness and psychological development. It allows you to  work though issues that give rise to depression and anxiety, and enables you to grieve the many losses and disappointments that continue to live within you.

In my work with you, we will look at the dynamics of your inner world and explore the early wounds that continue to cause you emotional pain. We will also investigate conflicting and/or problematic core beliefs and self-concepts. I will help you reflect upon the interplay between your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors as they arise in the therapeutic relationship as well as in your relationships outside the therapy room.

Together, we will examine those defenses that have interfered with your efforts at intimacy and you will learn new protective skills that will enable you to feel safe connecting with others. As you develop increased self-awareness and reconnect with your authentic self, you should come to experience greater joy and pleasure in living.
